  1. I enjoy the part-ending of the first article, it that "Then explain what YOU need from your boss or client in order to deliver what he or she wants. (Just make sure you're being realistic and reasonable with yourself when you detail what you need from your boss or client!)." it helps the over all goal, and is something i think we all can take from this and use in real life.

  2. With the second one i feel bad cause most people wont stand up for themselves, and with that most of the time it will continue to go without notice. Its were a lead will stand out and follower with continue to watch it happen.

  4. In the second article, I thought it was interesting to know that 65% of women are bullied in the workplace. It's sad to say that its mostly done by men, from my perspective, because they usually feel that we are inferior to them and they feel that we will submit to any work task they tell us to perform.

On the first article, I thought was a very creative way to approach a higher level of management and will probably use it the next time I receive an impossible task! =]

  5. As it pertains to the second article, I believe that it super improtant that people stand up to their bullies in work environments. You must establish some sort of dominance in the work place so that you are not going to be walked all over. Also, I agree with Kyle about telling your boss what you need in a situation where you might deem the task impossible. Most times it seems like the CEO is just an arrogant guy/girl, who thinks anything and everything can be done with little or no resources.

  7. Hey guys, today in class I think we are going to be discussing teams, so I found an article that discusses how to create and manage effective teams in the workplace. With more organizations utilizing teams now a days, it's important to recognize what makes a team effective. Here is an article that helps clarify that. See everyone in class!!

  8. In regards to you article, I believe that all teams need a manager and should be organized. The teams should not be overpopulated, as this would create ineffectiveness and unorganization. Synergy is an important part of a team.

  9. The sum of knowledge in a team is obviously greater then of any individual. Moreover, differential knowledge creates that sought after synergy.

  11. I think that communication in teams has been overruled by the internet and e-mail. It truely seems that even in my workplace, I do most of my communications via e-mail or text messaging. I think it is a great tool, because it allows you to respond instantly to people, while retaining a record of what the conversations were about.

In the article I like rule number one and five because its important to realize that there are many different personalities on the job and that everyone makes some mistakes and you have to been willing to have some room for it =]

  13. Woo for rule two...2. Rewards

The key to motivation is goals. So if motivation in the workplace is desired, then rewards for the employees are a must. They need to be motivated into doing a great job.

Whether it be promotions, bonuses or just simple words of affirmation, they deserve that for a job well done.

its what we did .. :-)

  14. I think it is a very valid point that you should make the work environment fun. This I feel brings employees closers together and creates better synergy between them. Also, they are more likely to help others in a time of need.

  15. Work environment needs to be fun..that is probably the most important aspect of a job next to pay in my opinion. If the work environment is not fun, who is going to want to work 7-10 hours for an organization. I have always felt that it comes time to get my career started I have to be doing something I enjoy and the work environment has to fun, or else why would I be motivated to stay within the organization. I think it is very important as managers to understand this concept and develop methods for making their organization more fun for employees. To do this managers must realize what exactly is a fun environment or possibly generate ideas based on the interests of your employees. By combining these methods, managers can get a better grasp on motivating employees and generating ways to improve employee morale!
